Go Skateboarding Day hit the streets of Atlanta like a thunderclap this year. Under the hot summer sky and the city skyline, skaters from across the metro showed up and showed out for the Block Party at Black Blocks, hosted by ATL’s skateboarder Mike Manion.
From the moment the first ramps were dragged off the truck and lifted into place, it was clear—this wasn’t just another event. This was a DIY takeover —a raw celebration of skate culture, powered by the community.
By midday, the pavement pulsed with energy. Skaters battled rails, boxes, and ramps while the crowd packed in along the edges, filming every make and cheering every fall. Hit the ground alone, get back up with the community. You didn’t need a contest or prizes to feel the hype—just the love for skateboarding.
Grinding rails in the heart of the city.
With Mike Manion on the megaphone, things stayed moving. Shouts of encouragement echoed between buildings. The street became a stage—raw, loud, and unapologetic. Just the way we like it.
Mobile Skate Shop and the whole block brought the energy.
And just when you thought the session couldn’t get any wilder, a skater launched off the ramp, catching air over the crowd, flying high under the downtown skyline. Phones went up. Time froze. That’s what Go Skateboarding Day is all about.
Huge thanks to
Mike Manion, the crew, all the builders, skaters, artists, and every single person who came out and made it what it was—unfiltered ATL skate culture at its finest.
And special thanks to sponsors and everyone who helped bring this day to life. From prize packs to food, from ramps to vibes - we made it happen.
